We partnered with Kroonstad Lockdown Family Support to assist the over 1000 families in need in the Kroonstad area. This is a joint operation (a big first for Kroonstad) between various churches, NGOs, community organisations like Paper bag brigade, VVA, Engo, NG Oos, NG Kroonheuwel Noord, NG Suid, Kroonstad Selkerk, Kroonheuwel School, Sentraal Volkskool, Rotary, Round Table, Vryburgers, Helpende hand(Solidariteit), Kroonstad Buurtwag, Ward Councilors of 3,16 and 17. It’s incredible how God uses a crisis to unite people in His name. The group have a holistic approach – not only do they assist with the immediate need for food, they also look at the social, psychological and spiritual needs of the community at large. A big number of the recipients are refugees – the community is working with various organisations to assist them in legal registrations and incorporating them into the community.
