Project Brave Foundation believes in uplifting marginalized mothers in the community to help give them a hand up and not a hand out. Maria is a Zimbabwe who came to South Africa to try and find an opportunity for employment in June 2017 as her husband’s illness resulted in an inability to work and therefore provide. Maria had some experience in the restaurant industry and thought she might be able to find a job in SA. Unfortunately, Maria was unable to find any work for months and found herself desperate and turned to begging on the streets to try and get food and money for the family. We felt her to be sincere and genuine in her desire to change her life and resourceful in her ideas and that is why we wanted to do this project.
