Sabrina is one of the missionaries that The Butterfly Foundation support – her work in the community is of immense value! Sabrina mobilised the youth community in George and heeded the call for sustainable food relief for people that have lost their jobs due to the lockdown. They started community food gardens that will continue to feed the community and allow people to help themselves. They received sponsorship from Afgri for vegetable seeds and negotiated reduced prices for compost. The community members take responsibility for their own gardens and also donate the excess produce to their neighbours. Gardens is widely referenced in the Bible and a great example that we reap what we sow. Starting from the Garden of Eden that God provided for Adam and Eve, to gardens we create and maintain today providing food and beauty.
