The Butterfly Foundation has had a longstanding with Local Motion in George, so when they approached us with the idea of expanding their ministry by hiring their first employee we were onboard. Through enabling Local Motion to hire a social worker meant an experienced and trained staff member would now be working with the children as well alleviate some of the burdens and responsibilities the Local Motion team were challenged with.
This full-time social worker assists Local Motion in administration, updating kids files, writing reports, following-up and networking with social workers, facilitating the program at the center after school, driving with the kids in the taxi to the destination and drop off, as well as networking with volunteers and local churches. She will also visit schools as Local Motion networks with the local communities. Furthermore, this will help run operations smoothly of all systems and structures within the program and ensure compliance, legally.
Here, at The Butterfly Foundation, we don’t only value enabling organizations, but also individuals who respond to their calling. We know that just as much as a social worker will add value to Local Motion, so the social worker will also be empowered to follow her passion and purpose.
