The Butterfly had the privilege to partner with Global Leadership Academy in their intentional leadership development programme based on the all-known Survivor model. Over the span of four days two tribes, consisiting of twenty Gr11 learners went head to head in the world’s greatest game – with a twist! Instead of voting team members out, team members encouraged one another with positive character traits seen in one another throughout the day’s challenges at daily tribal councils. Through these well planned and thoughtful “tribal councils” and “excile islands” experiences, a journey of inward discovery of who the Lord made them to be, how He made each one unique, and how He can use them, not only inside the game, but also outside was facilitated. This Survivor, forms part of GLA’s bigger leadership development program preparing Christian leaders to serve as Ambassadors in Grade 12 and beyond. It also gave them the opportunity to identify leaders and to gauge where they are in their leadership journey.
