The walkways team, under the guidance of Adri Brooks works to uplift previously unemployed workers to improve the state of community walkways surrounding residential areas. They improve the environment, give hope and employment while investing in people to show God’s infinite grace. They really took God’s commandment in Gen 2:15 to heart. They currently work in 10 communities in Pretoria, taking an untidy area under their wing, cleaning, replanting and caring for a specific walkway with indigenous, waterwise plants. These plants include edible heirloom virgin seeds like flowering nasturtiums, spinach, parsley, red marog and more than 2500 spekboom cuttings. Their target for 2020 is to plant at least 1000 spekboom cuttings of min 15cm per month. Community members donate funds, cuttings, water and gardening materials.
